Organic Farming

Organic Farming

Federico moved to Poggio D'Acona in 1996 from the madding city of Rome with no idea of farming. Thanks to his great passion, he dedicated to all the activities of the farmhouse, thus founding nowadays absolutely organic farming. Such organic farming was certified by ICEA in 1998. In the fields around the farmhouse there are more than 500 olive trees of varieties "Leccino", "Moraiolo" and "Frantoiano".

In 2006 a new wooden sheepfold for the 50 full-blooded goats called "Camosciate delle Alpi" was built. Thanks to their milk, in the farmhouse dairy finished in 2008, we produce great fresh goat's milk cheese, soft and mouldy, aged and the famous "Capreggio" produced through a special dairy process invented by Federico.
